Towards Wisdom
Sheila Ward
Discovering wisdom through circles:
a personal journey exploring the potential of love
Towards Wisdom is an exploration into the nature of spirituality and the meaning of love based on life experience. It is written for, and will resonate with, women with at least half a life-time’s experience and it calls on them to share their life experience in ‘wisdom circles’. Guidance on the formation and development of such circles is provided, based on the author’s own extensive experience. It is the author’s belief that the proliferation of such
circles, and the wisdom and love that emanates from them, holds the key to a positive future for humanity. From small seeds great trees grow . . .
‘This book is a must for women wanting to explore their own journeys through the second half of life and will inspire them to deepen their explorations towards becoming an Elderwoman, both alone and together.’
Sheila Ward has had a lifelong interest in spirituality and the meaning of love. In 1987, at the age of fifty-seven, she set up a retreat centre in Shropshire. The main focus of the Grange was to be ‘Exploring the Second Half of Life’ for women, but it also became a much loved centre for many other groups exploring their spirituality and creativity. She retired from running the Grange in 2000 (though still runs the Exploring weekends there) and continues her ongoing spiritual research from Dorset.
